If The Sun Was An Instrument…
Every since I picked up the camera 10 years ago, I have this thirst to capture my wife’s light on the beach. As a child of Miami, I have implicit memories of watching dark complexion across a sandy landscape with a backdrop of water and sky mixture. It was a beautiful offset of images that continue to make up my artistic landscape. My desire to see her on the beach with the glow of her skin became an overwhelmingly committed goal.
I kind of liking it to sound…if the sun was an instrument then the mocha skin variation of Africans would be a song with polyrhythmic tones. Melanin would be the vibrations that alter in each expression and dance with various plays. Healthy brown skin on African descendants radiates and reminds us that we are made for the sun.
