Black Madonna Reverberates Long Black Musical Sounds

Anyone who cares much about that sound of America, can confirm through history that the Black music artistry is at the core of this nation. Black traditional musical composition has stretched America to its vibrational limits, creating room for all contributors to find their place in the chorus ensemble. One can follow current artistry back and hear the remnants of a not so distance sounds.

My son was captivated at Juneteenth when he heard the impressive “not so distant sound” of Black Madonna. He sat and listened to the three pieces the group perform, barely taking a moment to breath. Behind my lens, I vibed with the modernity of their tracks, making me reminiscent of previous composers. From the rule breaking Thelonious Monk, to the revisionist Chuck Berry, I welcomed the soul gripping Funkadelics, Parliament, and the innovative Jimmy Hendrix that I heard in the group on that day. Black Madonna carried much of todays Rock and HipHop in the same way Bootsy Collins carried psychedelic funk and rock in the 70’s, the spectrum of art fusion was in the lyrics, sound, and skill. Something we do not see much in Black music today.

I tell you this much…. my son and I are captivated fans of Black Madonna.
